Our new garden B&B guest room also converts into an art studio, so we can now offer art lessons with an overnight stay as well as just B&B in this creative environment.

St. Catherine’s Hall was a small Victorian school now converted into 2 houses. It is only two minutes walk from Long Melford’s main street but on the edge of the countryside.

Art Class B&B Weekend Retreat

Long Melford is an amazingly creative village with so much to offer tourists, artists and walkers with its antique warehouses, Kentwell Hall - a beautiful manor house with gardens, parklands and re-enactment events and Melford Hall, a National Trust property. Long Melford High Street is just over a mile long and has eight pubs with restaurants and numerous tea rooms within this short distance, catering for all visitors.

If you choose B&B, it’s £75 per night.
Breakfast - Full English or continental - is £12pp and served in our country kitchen.

Our B&B offers Wi-Fi, smart TV, tea and coffee making facilities, private bathroom, allocated parking space and your own garden with patio seating.

Long Melford and its surrounding countryside offers many stimulating opportunities for artists.

If you wish to do art lessons, they are one to one in the garden studio and range from an introduction to drawing and painting in oils for total beginners, to more advanced lessons, and can include local location landscape painting.

The lessons are short but very intensive. However you can paint for as long as you like during the day. All materials - paints, brushes and canvas will be supplied and included in the price.

The cost of art lessons is £80 for a single pupil or a couple.

One hour lesson drawing/painting, an hour to continue working on your own, followed by a further hour’s teaching. You then have time to relax or continue painting.

Alternatively if you’re local I also offer weekly art lessons for beginners.

The lessons are one hour long each week for 12 weeks and cover learning to draw and then painting in oils. £25 per hour. Materials are supplied for first lesson.
